What is a home inspection?

home inspection is a visual process where all of the items typically used within a home are tested and/or operated to verity proper operation and installation.  The structure is checked, roofing materials inspected, electrical hazards, air conditioning and heating systems operated, etc.  Notes and pictures are taken and then a report is presented.  A home inspection is totally different from an appraisal which just values the property.

Is it important to hire an ASHI graduate?

YES! ASHI is an acronym for the “American Society of Home Inspectors.”  They are revered as having the most prestigious and rigorous home inspection school in the country which is also the only one that is accredited by “The National Commission for Certifying Agencies.”

Why should I choose Sunshine Home Inspection?

  1. Our owner demands thoroughness, professionalism and perfection.
  2. We only hire ASHI home inspectors.
  3. In all of our years, we have never been sued.

Is Sunshine Home Inspection licensed and insured?

Yes, you can call the Louisiana State Board of Home Inspectors or check their website.

What should I pay for a home inspection?

Just like anything else, “you get what you pay for.”  If you price shop to find the cheapest home inspectors, you will get burned.  We see it all the time.  Home inspectors that charge low prices will push for high volume which means they are trying to inspect 3 homes a day.  It is absolutely impossible to be thorough when inspecting that many!  In fact, we know many of these home inspectors and they tell us about their lawsuits.

ASHI Certified Inspector

"ASHI" Inspectors are the only ones certified by The National Commission for Certifying Agencies. This is the highest level of inspector in the country.
