FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A home inspection is a visual process where all of the items typically used within a home are tested and/or operated to verify proper operation and installation.  The structure is checked, roofing materials inspected, electrical hazards, air conditioning and heating systems operated, etc.  Notes and pictures are taken and then a report is emailed.  A home inspection is totally different from an appraisal, which just values the property.

Just like anything else, “you get what you pay for.”  If you price shop to find the cheapest home inspectors, you could get burned.  We see it all the time.  Home inspectors that charge low prices may push for high volume which means they are trying to inspect 3 homes a day.  It is absolutely impossible to be thorough when inspecting that many.  Also, those with little experience often charge low prices to get business in the door.
